Studying the Multi-Strange Baryon Correlations in pp and dAu Collisions at 200 GeV per Nucleon Pair with the STAR Detector Currently, there are several possible models for moderate and high pT heavy particle production in a hot, dense medium. It appears that in pp collisions jets are responsible for producing most of the Xi's with pT > ~3.5 GeV/c. It remains to be seen what fraction of these is produced by snatching a thermal quark from the surrounding medium and combining it with a fragmentation product (i.e., via recombination) in central AuAu collisions, where a QGP is likely. However, the first step is to understand whether a reliable baseline for a possible study in AuAu may be established. Preliminary Xi correlation analysis, helping us to understand the mechanism for multi-strange particle production in simpler 200 GeV per nucleon pair pp and dAu collision systems are presented.
